Rainy season brings more Malaria

I received a phone call from Rackson this morning and thought I would pass it along. He called to tell me a little 8 year old girl from the village who attends Bible Way Baptist, her name is Maria died last night from Malaria, it is the rainy season in Malawi and this will happen over and over again. Her Mother is the lead singer in Bible Ways woman’s singing group and her father works as a cook at the Mapanga orphanage. Rackson got the call last night as he was having dinner with John Fullford the missionary who is handling the work there in country. He gave Rackson all the money needed for the coffin and the transportation and food for the funeral, John at best is poorly supported and I know this money came out of his personal account, what a blessing he is to the work. I pray often that God will bless him and his family. You can read about John in the Malawi newsletter that I send out every few months. What a work he is doing. News from Malawi and Rackson!

I received this e-mail from Rackson over the week-end and I wanted to keep everyone updated on the happenings in Malawi and how Rackson is doing now that he is back. I edited it a little so as to be better understood. One thing it doesn’t say but he told me when I called is that HE paid for the casket out of his pocket and the church and family paid for the food. That is the custom there that the family of the one who died pays for the food for all who attend. In Malawi a funeral is a big social event both for the family and the village. The child who was 5 years old died of Malaria, it killed her in two days, village children have no resistance to disease due to poor diets. Anyway Rackson has little support and yet he is willing to pay for a casket because Margret’s mother and father are members of Bible Way Church in Malawi. I would hope this touches your heart and you would like to help in the work. No amount is to small when the Lord is in the work. God bless and keep you.

Things is going good here but Last week Friday we GATT(had a) funnel(funeral) at Bible Way. a little Girl called Margret she died on Thursday and we have a funnel(funeral) service on Friday and many people come, and more than 600 got saved in that day,
and we have bean (been) praying for the land next to good Samaritan, and John tell me that God is answer our prayers to buy land next to us This is very good.
Things is very hard for soul winning now because we have more problem with Mazda so sometimes we can walk if Mazda is not (running) good,
But God is Good To me and My family and my Ministry,
I miss you Dad, Grace she is very Happy with the staff (stuff) i brought to her.

I just got off the phone with Rackson, not a bad connection at this time of day. Malawi is seven hours ahead of us (CTZ) so he was winding up his day at the Children's home. He called me just as he was entering the village where Bible Way Baptist Church is located. He is working with the local pastor visiting members of the church and inviting others to visit next Sunday. Bible Way is a very important part of the village life as it is a place where many may meet and have a safe and comfortable place to worship and learn more about Gods plan for the saved and what one needs to do in order to get saved. This is Racksons' strong suit and what he loves to do. Many have asked about Rackson so I am sending this update and including a few of the pictures he sent back. The first thing we got for him was a camera and boy did he ever use it. It was on his belt always. He got to use it while attending an American Marriage, funeral, church services (local and around the southern states), Naval Air Museum, Creation Museum, at the beach, on a boat fishing, Blue Angel Air Show, when he first saw ice, snow, the ocean, at an underground waterfall (Ruby Falls), Rock City, The Tennessee Aquarium, Malls (the size of a small Malawi city) and pictures of everyday life we enjoy here without giving it a thought. Most of what we did will be updated soon so please come back. He received many wonderful things from churches we visited and all got back to Malawi packed in suitcases without a loss of a single item, boy is God good to his children! That is not a question but a statement. He is doing the work of an Evangelist and he is doing it all the time. My only regret is that we could not raise more for his support. I lost count of the number of souls saved while he and I were working together in Malawi but it was in the thousands and I was slowing him down because of age and legs. He will continue to work as long as he has petrol money and can get to the villages, if no money, then he will walk as far as he can in a day and preach Gods word, that is just the kind of young man he is. He has been a blessing in my life and I know he has been one in the churches he visited while here in America. I am sending a few pictures he sent me. I hope you enjoy them and think on the work that is taking place in Malawi and want to take part in that work. Rackson has few needs outside the normal food, clothing and care of his family which consists of his wife Grace and their two children and his two brothers, who he is trying to make sure get an education along with food and shelter.

update on Rackson

Have you heard! Rackson made the flight with the window of weather. They re-booked him to travel direct to Washington D.C. without stopping in Atlanta. Rackson's prayers were answered that day. All went well except for the additional cost of the extra luggage we stuffed for Grace. We had to send lots of presents for so many. There is always room for something for the Fullford's. Sorry Jonathon, even your school books made it.
We are waiting for pictures but as you know the internet in Malawi does not always cooperate. Soon Rackson tells us.
Bible Way Njuli is doing great and so happy to see Rackson and welcome him home. Now it is time to get busy and put the Pastor's teaching at work and help the other evangelists and go forth and tell others about Jesus.
Please continue to pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Malawi. The time is short and they need to hear about the Saviour.

Such a Welcome !!!!!

Rackson news

The trip to the United States has brought some interesting days. Arriving at Washington D.C. airport separated Chuck from Rackson for two hours. Chuck an American citizen goes one way and Rackson sent another way. They asked and asked Rackson why he was here, how long he was to be in the United States and who paid for his trip. As he explained many times he is here to Thank those for helping with the mission in Malawi and give an update to those many churches and people that have so much love and Prayers for the children and people of Malawi. The immigration kept telling Rackson to go! Just go! Rackson with a deer in the head lights look said WHERE? It can be confusing for someone that is honest and innocent coming to the land we take so much for granted.
Rackson's first week has been so overwhelming. Lots of food, lots of people doing something or going somewhere! Electricity when you want it, Water when you want it, and Lots of food when you want it! You know Chuck when he is hungry there is Chuck.

Thank You Mike and Pastor for taking Rackson on his first fishing trip! WHY do you throw back the fish???

Coming to America

I spoke to Chuck and Rackson on Sunday night at 9pm our time, they were heading out at 3am their time for the trip to Lilongwe to the Embassy. Rackson has practiced and practiced what he is going to say so he isn't so nervous!!! I think the excitement of coming to America is to much for the young man! We get that way when we travel to a new place, however I think about what this means to a young man that has always lived in poverty and knows the village life. Rackson has done so well with the Bible teaching and it shows in his heart how much the Lord means to him! Chuck has remarked it took him till he was 64 years old to have a kid and what a kid he is! We are so proud of Rackson and his walk with the Lord!
3 am Rackson calls to tell Mum she can go to sleep now! I told him I was going to pray all night for their safety and for the papers! He was right I fell asleep right after I hung up and said THANK YOU LORD! Praises! for the wonderful ways he gives us so much. This was meant for Rackson and not just what we want for him! We are excited to see what the Lord has in store while Rackson is here!
Off to pack so more! I think I should think about where I will put my clothes!
